Have you ever had your life shaken up so badly, you could not have even imagined. Those moments just arrive, fast and sharp, and everything changes. You weren’t planning on REassessing your entire life. You were just trying to make dinner. Or pay the bills. Or survive the week.
And then it hits:
• A hurricane that takes your home—and your sense of control
• A breakup you didn’t see coming
• A job loss that guts your sense of direction
• A diagnosis that rewrites your future in one sentence
• A fire, a flood, a funeral
• Or just a quiet moment when you realize you don’t even recognize the life you’re in anymore
Suddenly, you’re not just REarranging the pieces. You’re asking real questions. What’s working? What’s not? Who am I now? It doesn’t feel like a spiritual awakening. It feels like chaos. But if you let it, it can also be the moment you REconsider. Not just your schedule. Your whole damn story.
That’s what I call a RE-Era. It's an Opportunity for a MidLife REinvention.
Not because we asked for it. But because life handed us something hard enough to make us stop. For me, it was a humiliating breakup that gutted me, right on the heels of everything else falling apart. The business I’d spent ten years building was collapsing under the weight of a cancer caregiving journey, endless road closures, and the early days of COVID.
Financially, I was wrecked. Emotionally, I was so far past done. I found myself surrounded by the ashes of my life, my hopes & dreams in shambles, looking around, trying to figure out what in the world I was going to do. That old saying—no one’s coming to save you—hits differently when it’s just you and the wreckage and the silence.
I was 53. And I knew I had to REevaluate what I was doing with my life. That’s what a RE-Era is.
It’s not about bouncing back. It’s about REbuilding forward, with intention, with wisdom, with everything you’ve learned the hard way. Because the baggage we carry? It matters. It tells us where we’ve been. It shows us what we’ve survived. And if we’re willing to sit with it, to unpack it with care and compassion, it can teach us what to keep and what we’re finally ready to set down. This is where the new chapter begins.
Not because we have to start over, but because we get to do it differently. We get to do in on pupose and with purpose.
If any of this sounds like you… If you’re picking up the pieces, or staring down a moment that changed everything… Welcome to your RE-Era.
This is your precious life. Not a dress rehearsal. Not a holding pattern. This moment is not just something else to survive. And when change comes, whether it’s invited or not, it brings with it a rare chance to ask different questions.
Not just how am I ever going to get through this? But what kind of life do I want to live now? What do I want to create, on purpose?
Listen, mi amor, here’s the thing: you’re not starting from scratch. You are REstarting from experience. You’re bringing the full weight of your story with you. The heartbreak AND the healing. The missteps AND the miracles. The lessons you had to learn the hard way.
That wisdom? That experience? That’s your freedom.
You’re not stuck. You’re not too late. You’re not broken.
You’re finally free to build something that feels real. And this time, it can be the best chapter yet.
In your RE-Era, you get to:
• REconsider what truly matters
• REclaim your time, energy, and voice
• REbuild with clarity and confidence
• REimagine what joy looks like now
• REstore your sense of purpose and power
• REcreate a life that feels like it fits
• REignite your sense of adventure
And you don’t have to do it alone. That’s what Spicy Living is about. This is a community of spicy life seeing souls REinventing on purpose, together.
Brick by brick. Truth by truth. Choice by choice.
With a resilience only desperation can build, and the kind of wisdom you never wanted, but anyway. Here we are. And, I promise you are not alone.
